About Natural Wax & Candle Safety About Natural Wax & Candle Safety

About Natural Wax

All of our candles are hand-poured with a special blend of natural food grade based vegetable waxes.  Although, both vegetable waxes and paraffin waxes can produce an exceptional candle, there are several benefits of using natural vegetable wax.

Natural Vegetable Wax:

  • Is made from processed hydrogenated vegetable oils with fatty acids (no paraffin).
  • Ingredients are from natural and renewable resources.
  • It gives a clean, slow, and even burn.
  • It produces less soot than paraffin waxes.  Lower soot levels help maintain better air quality and reduce the need for clean-up associated with higher soot deposits.
  • Allows for higher fragrance levels which enables a better scent throw cold or while burning.
  • Gives a smooth and opaque appearance.
  • Cleans up with soap and water. (If paraffin wax is introduced into your pipes by lets say your kitchen sink from cleaning out your jar or overspill, it can clog your drain!)
  • Has a lower melting point than traditional paraffin waxes.

Candle Safety

  • Caution! Hot wax burns!  Failure to follow instructions could result in fire hazard, injury, or smoke damage.
  • Remove all packaging and labels before burning.
  • Burn candles only in a suitable container on a stable heat resistant surface.
  • Keep wick centered & trimmed to 1/4" to avoid high flames, smoking, & soot build up.
  • Keep wax free from wick trimmings & flammable materials.
  • Do not place a burning candle next to any flammable items.
  • Keep burning candles away from drafts.  Drafts will cause them to burn unevenly & may present a fire hazard.
  • Discontinue use when only 1/2" of wax remains in bottom of container or on bottom of pillar.
  • Do not move candle while burning or if wax is still hot.
  • Burn candles at least 1 hour for each diameter to let the wax pool form on the entire surface.  This will increase burn time and prevent the candle from burning straight down the middle (tunneling).
  • Burn candles for no more than 3-4 hours at a time to also increase burn time.
  • Extinguish candles by using a candle snuffer instead of "blowing them out."  "Blowing out" your candles will produce more soot & present a fire hazard if lit or hot pieces land on flammable objects.
  • KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN AND PETS AT ALL TIMES!
  • NEVER LEAVE A BURNING CANDLE UNATTENDED!

BE SAFE AND ENJOY!
